Book Review – Proximity Theory by Thomas A. Black

Proximity Theory by Thomas A. Black

The author Thomas A. Black has aptly applied the proximity theory to human relationships, in this book. The story revolves around three main characters – John, Joan and Jane.  John and Joan apparently share an intimate relationship only until John accidentally meets Jane and realizes the concept of proximity theory and how it is applicable to his chemistry with Joan.

The author has impeccably portrayed the emotions, such as sadness, happiness, anger, intimacy, affection, etc., experienced by each character.  While going through the book one feels the same emotions as the one being expressed by the author at that time.

This book is apt for light reading. The author has used his excellent writing skills to create the necessary suspense and emotional drama. However, at some places it seems like the story is being dragged unnecessarily and also some particular phrases have been used quite frequently which make you lose interest more often than expected.

Overall it is a good and enjoyable read. It surely makes you stop and think about your own relationships and to weigh their real worth.
